Checkers for Kids

Each player moves their pieces diagonally forward on the dark squares. If you can jump over an opponent piece into an empty square beyond it, you must take that jump - this is the "mandatory capture" rule. If a jump leads to another jump with the same piece, you must keep jumping. A piece that reaches the far row becomes a king and can then move and jump diagonally in any direction.

If one jump lands your piece next to another opponent piece with room to jump again, you must keep going - all of the jumps in a row count as a single turn. A "double jump" captures two pieces in one turn, and a "triple jump" captures three.
