- Step 1.
Fold the diamond into a triangle
Start with a square sheet of paper, turned like a diamond with the white side facing up. Fold the bottom corner up to meet the top corner, and press the crease flat along the bottom edge.
- Step 2.
Crease the center vertical line
Fold the left corner over to the right corner to fold the triangle in half, press firmly, and unfold. This vertical crease helps position the ears evenly.
- Step 3.
Fold the left ear up
Fold the bottom-left corner up and slightly outward along an angle, so the pointy ear sticks up past the top edge of the head. Press the fold flat.
- Step 4.
Fold the right ear up
Fold the bottom-right corner up and slightly outward in the same way, matching the left ear. Both pointy ears are now pointing upward.
- Step 5.
Fold the top point down
Fold the top point down between the two ears along the dashed line so the top of the cat’s head is flat. Press the crease firmly.
- Step 6.
Turn the cat face over
Turn the model over to the smooth front side. The ears stand up straight, the top of the head is flat, and the chin sits at the bottom.
- Step 7.
Draw on the face
Use a pen or marker to draw two eyes, a little triangular nose, a smiling mouth, and three whiskers on each side.
You made a cat face! 🎉
Use colored markers to add calico spots, stripes, or big curious eyes. The cat face pairs delightfully with the dog face and fox face.
