About Measuring Length with Rulers (CCSS 2.MD.A.1–4)
- When an object starts at 0, read the number at the right end of the object.
- When an object starts at a non-zero mark, subtract the starting mark from the ending mark (end − start = length).
- To find how much longer one object is than another, subtract the shorter length from the longer length.
