Checkers Jump-Chain Notes Adult Key

Adult key for the separate jump-chain worksheet. Let the learner trace the full turn before showing these landings.

1. First jump: Move the Black piece from row 3, column 2 over Red at row 4, column 3, landing at row 5, column 4. Remove that Red piece.
2. Keep jumping: From row 5, column 4, jump over Red at row 6, column 5, landing at row 7, column 6. Remove the second Red piece. The entire path is one turn, not two separate turns.

Black cannot stop at row 5, column 4, because the same piece can still capture diagonally. The other Black piece at row 3, column 6 cannot make an ordinary step: a capture is available, and captures are mandatory. The moving piece has not reached row 8, so it is not crowned yet.
